The Westgate Mall attack and the stories Media tells us is covered in this article. The idea that we move past tragedies by separating ourselves from the victims by grouping them together to form an “other” is a compelling explanation for people being able to forget.

I love the RSA Animate video on education and this video on “The Internet in Society: Empowering or Censoring Citizens?” is just as interesting.

Jack Monroe is a fantastic food blogger on a budget and poverty activist. Her Easy peasy garlic bread is delicious, I wasn’t sure it would work since it was the first time I’d made bread but it did and it disappeared in no time.

The “What’s in my bag” is standard in the blogging world, so Matador Network’s series on what journalists carry on the front lines is a welcome twist.
